Dedication
This site is dedicated to the loving memory of Hubert Lee Gray, Sr. and Geneva Marcella Hancock,
my parents.
Both Hubert and
Geneva were wonderful Christian parents and are now in the presence
of our Heavenly Father. I
know they would be proud of this
site and all that it has to offer.

I started this project in the early 1990s as simply an excercise to find out who my direct ancestors were. Well, as most of you who have any experience know, a simple excercise has turned into an obsession. Genealogy research has a way of permeating every cell of your body. You live and breathe the thrill of the hunt. You are constantly thinking about what to do next and where to search next. You honestly believe that around the next clue or trickle of information, you will find that long lost ancestor you've been looking so long for. I've lost track of how many times I've thought I'd hit a dead end and no more information was available when, "BAM", I would find a small clue and the adrenaline would start to pump and the adventure would start again. Can you relate?
